Antique Cabinet Redo!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Here is a cabinet my father picked up last summer to refinish. He didn't get around to it before he passed away. I decided to paint it rather than strip the finish off. It was like it had been painted brown with a brown glaze.

The inside has a chalkboard area too!

Antique Medicine Cabinet Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Makeover

Happy Spring everyone!
I know it doesn't quite feel like spring around here. We have been below zero all week here and I'm hoping it's going to get warmer next week. I really want the snow to melt and to be able to see some green grass! This winter I thought I would refinish this old medicine cabinet with some Annie Sloan Chalk paint. I love how cute it is and the details it had. This is it before:

The inside didn't have the original paint stripped off it. I scrapped and sanded so the new paint would have a smooth surface. I even had to fill two holes which likely were where the cabinet had been screwed to the wall.

The top needed to be glued and clamped as it was separating a little.

Here is the after in Old White ASCP.

The inside of the cabinet and drawer I painted Provence ASCP with an accent of grey chalkboard paint. I finished it off with clear wax. I love it and think it's the cutest medicine cabinet!

CB2 chalkboard magazine holder hack

I recently completed a diy knock off of the CB2 chalkboard office magazine holder this retails for $24.95 CAD. Here is a picture of the chalkboard office accessories from CB2.

I loved this idea and have tons of Chalkboard paint and thought I could make it myself.
I went to ikea and picked up a pack of Knuff magazine holders for $12.99.

 

These are what they looked like before.

The magazine holders after two coats of chalkboard paint. I purchased the paint at Home Depot for $22.97 for another project.

Big message board love

Hi all!
I have a piece that I made a while ago that I just love. I don't have the right spot for it and wish I did. I live it so much and just can't wrap my head around the fact that it hasn't been bought. So many people comment on it, but I guess it is just never the right piece for their space. I think it would be a beautiful addition to a home office. What do you think?

Winter is here!

It was lovely to wake up to snow on the first day of winter.
I finally got to see my planters with snow on them.
